Featured Speakers
Dr. Jeffrey S. Moore
Keynote Speaker
Stanley O. Ikenberry Research Endowed Chair, Research Professor in Chemistry, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign
Throughout his career, the Moore Group has made fundamental impacts in mechanically responsive polymer materials (such as self-healing and autonomically adaptive materials) through elegant combinations of organic chemistry and polymer synthesis. His groundbreaking contributions to the field have earned him membership in the National Academy of Sciences, fellowships in both the American Chemical Society and ACS Division of Polymeric Materials Science and Engineering, and the ACS Edward Leete Award, among many other honors recognizing his teaching and research.
Dr. George Rotter
Alumni Speaker
UIUC Chemical Engineering '85, Ph.D. Macromolecular Science, Retired, Amoco/BP/INEOS
Dr. Rotter's career at Amoco/BP/INEOS spanned individual contributor and management roles, including patent-generating work on rheological chain-branching modifications of recycled PET and commercializing plastic beverage containers using active scavenger technology. He later led international teams scaling novel solid- liquid separation technologies and supervised an award-winning analytical chemistry group. Before retiring in 2021, Dr. Rotter accrued extensive experience in safety leadership and team development across his career.
